Practice Accountant

<p>Robert Half Talent Solutions are seeking a Practice accountant to manage a portfolio for a growing Practice based in Aberystwyth. The role will be primarily home based with occasion client meeting in the area. </p> <p>As an <strong>Accounts Senior</strong> or <strong>Practice Accountant</strong> for a small-to-medium firm, your role is the bridge between raw data and strategic advice for local business owners. You aren't just &quot;doing the books&quot;-accountancy is about helping SMEs navigate their growth and stay compliant.</p> <p><strong>Job Title: Practice Accountant (SME Specialist)</strong></p> <p><strong>Location:</strong> Hybrid - primarily home based with occasion client meeting in the area. </p> <p><strong>Salary:</strong> &#163;30,000 to &#163;37,000</p> <p><strong>Hours:</strong> 35 hour week, out client will consider candidates on a part time basis.</p> <p><br /></p> <p><strong>The Role</strong></p> <p>We are looking for an experienced Accountant to manage a diverse portfolio of small business clients, including limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships. You will be responsible for the end-to-end production of statutory accounts and providing the &quot;human touch&quot; that our clients rely on for their financial peace of mind.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Statutory Accounts:</strong> Prepare full year-end accounts for small limited companies in accordance with FRS 102 (Section 1A) and FRS 105.</li><li><strong>Tax Compliance:</strong> Prepare and submit Corporation Tax returns (CT600), Personal Tax returns, and VAT returns (including MTD compliance).</li><li><strong>Client Management:</strong> Act as the primary point of contact for a dedicated portfolio, answering queries on payroll, dividends, and business expenses.</li><li><strong>Bookkeeping &amp; Management Accounts:</strong> Oversee monthly or quarterly management accounts to provide clients with real-time insight into their performance.</li><li><strong>Systems Advisory:</strong> Assist clients in migrating to or optimizing cloud accounting software like <strong>Xero, QuickBooks, or FreeAgent</strong>.</li><li><strong>Onboarding:</strong> Assist in the setup of new client entities and HMRC registrations.</li></ul> <p><strong>Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Qualification:</strong> ACCA/ACA qualified or QBE (Qualified by Experience) with at least 3&#43; years in a <strong>UK public practice</strong> environment.</li><li><strong>Technical Skills:</strong> Deep understanding of current UK GAAP and tax legislation.</li><li><strong>Software:</strong> Proficiency in cloud software (Xero/QuickBooks) and production suites (Iris, CCH, or TaxCalc).</li><li><strong>Communication:</strong> Ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-financial business owners in plain English.</li></ul> <p><strong>Why Join Us?</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Variety:</strong> No two days are the same.</li><li><strong>Autonomy:</strong> Manage your own workflow and build lasting professional relationships.</li></ul> <p>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
