Support the schools DT department, Full time post with scope to progress onto other roles - St Albans, Hertfordshire</p> <p><br /></p> <p><br /></p> <p><br /></p> <p>Tradewind St Albans Secondary team are looking for a full time DT technician. We are recruiting on behalf of a popular Secondary School located in St Albans on an ongoing basis. Experience isn't essential and this role could serve as a stepping stone for those considering a career in education or coming from another sector. This is a full time, long-term role paying a daily rate of between £90-£110 p/day depending on experience and with the option to go permanent with the school.</p> <p><br /></p> <p><strong>Duties will include; </strong>Supporting lessons and working alongside pupils in years 7-11, Preparing classrooms and equipment for practical lessons across the DT department. Classes consist mainly of DT / Woodwork and Food Technology. As a result confidence in working with belt sanders, Scroll drills and other heavier machinery is important. This isn't specialist equipment and those confident with domestic tools would adapt well. The ability to liaise and support students is essential. A health and safety certificate or knowledge of H&S is an advantage but not essential. Other duties will include printing resources, stoke taking and stock management, you will also be required to ensure classrooms are clean and tidy. </p> <p><br /></p> <p>We are looking for 1 DT technician who can demonstrate flexibility across the various different subjects of a busy and popular technology department, demonstrate your desire to work as a team and better the department.</p> <ul> <li>You will be required to provide a full working history since leaving education.</li><li>The right to work in the UK and proof of address</li><li>An enhanced DBS Disclosure and Overseas Police Clearances, if applicable.</li><li>Reference checks will also be completed with consent</li></ul> <p><br /></p> <p>If you're looking to join a busy and engaging staff team and make a difference then we want to hear from you.
