Job summary

Akari Care is seeking an Assistant Cook to join their team in Gateshead. The role involves preparing and serving high-quality, nutritious meals for the residents while ensuring individual dietary needs are met. The successful candidate will have experience in a similar environment, a caring nature, and the ability to lead and motivate a team. As the Assistant Cook, you will play a pivotal role in the kitchen, creating menus, plating up, and arranging food trollies to make meals appealing and stimulate the residents' appetites. You will be part of the extended care team, with the opportunity to coach and develop your team. The role requires a City & Guilds 706 1&2 or equivalent, a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, and previous experience as an Assistant Cook or Cook in a similar environment. What we require from you: 20 Hours per week City & Guilds 706 1&2, or equivalent (achieved or working towards) Basic Food Hygiene Certificate Assistant Cook or Cookexperience with similar environment /surrounding. Supervisory or Line Management experience A caring nature to give everyone a personal approach. Proven ability to lead by example, motivate a team and delegate effectively.
